For as long as I can remember, I have been deeply curious about the mind and the human condition. I have also always been driven by a desire to ease suffering in those around me. So finding my way into this profession was rather straightforward. I continue to be in awe of the complexity of people, and I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to do this beautiful work.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bard College with a focus in Child Development and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Baruch College, City University of New York. I have been practicing psychotherapy in various settings since receiving my Master's Degree in 2014.
I work individually with adults of any age and teenagers. I have experience working with individuals with an extensive range of presenting concerns. I work well with people with anxiety, those who have experienced trauma, sensitive and creative individuals, people sorting through existential or spiritual matters, and anyone in the LGBTQ+ community. I have a special interest and skill in working with people with gender-related concerns. Another of my strengths is connecting with teenagers and helping them navigate the transition into early adulthood.
I strive to be the best therapist I can be, so I regularly take courses, attend seminars, and seek out consultation. I have completed trainings in trauma-focused therapy, culturally-competent care, play therapy for children, family systems theory, and spiritually-integrated psychotherapy. I completed a two-year training in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute.
I have also completed a 200-hour training to become a certified yoga instructor. Though I do not teach yoga to therapy clients, my training as well as my own yoga and mindfulness practices have allowed me to help my clients bridge the mind-body gap which often increases well-being.
